As a Pre-Sales Consultant, reporting to the Pre-Sales Director, you will be responsible for supporting the New Business and Managed Account teams to build and deliver compelling propositions for the Sales teams to close.

As a hands-on participant in the sales and business development process, you will look to understand the Client’s business and technical opportunity/challenge, and work with Jumar’s delivery teams to create a persuasive proposal – delivering the supporting documents, presentations and associated collateral. This will include managing the creation of the business case and associated commercial offering, participating in workshops and presentations and, once won, supporting the handing over of the solution to the delivery and service operation functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting opportunity qualification, development and ultimately conversion to a win
  • To be client facing, and an evangelist of technology and Jumar’s capabilities
  • Support the sales teams in front of the client – orchestrating the relevant technical expertise from within the organisation – understanding the technology aspects at a high-level, though not necessarily being hands-on with it
  • To understand the challenge from the Client’s perspective, ensuring that the solution being created by the delivery teams supports the client’s desired outcome and business case
  • Working with the delivery teams, create the necessary proposals, presentations and statements of work
  • Create the cost model for the engagement, using Jumar’s standard processes and templates
  • To manage the activities of the delivery teams during the bid process to ensure that sufficient time is allowed for the appropriate commercial, quality and delivery reviews
  • To work closely with Pre-Sales counterparts, engagement, technical experts and the marketing team to grow your knowledge of products and services

Relevant Experience

  • Previously held a Pre-Sales or Technical Account Manager role
  • Supported the selling of Professional Services, Managed Services, Product or Data Services, particularly any of;
    • Legacy Modernisation
    • Data analytics, big data, data science
    • Microsoft technologies
    • SaaS
  • Financial Services experience (particularly Insurance) an advantage

  • The provision of software development expertise within internal or customer Application Development Teams specifically in relation to development initiatives relating to .NET technologies (C#, MVC, TFS, ASP.net)
  • To support development initiatives and, to a limited degree, associated planning and resource management
  • Participation in the Design, Coding, Testing, Defect Resolution and Deployment activities in support of a Jumar internal and customer projects.
  • Development of and adherence to Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Release, Technical and Service Standards.
